Continued collaboration between Fondazione Green and Sistem Air
It was a Friday of encounters and mutual growth organised by Fondazione Green and Sistem Air for the students enrolled in the ITS "Energy-efficient heating systems" course.
More and more studies and research are showing that if the air we breathe outside is bad, the air inside our homes is five times more polluted.
This happens because a mix is created between the pollutants we bring in from outside and those we produce ourselves inside the home. How? In many ways, from cigarette smoke to formaldehyde in furniture and detergents. Just to name a few.
In addition, we have all spent much more time indoors in the last two years due to the pandemic, but this has led (and continues to lead) to a further increase in indoor pollution levels.
Reducing the level of indoor pollution involves a number of simple but fundamental actions and behaviours. While frequent airing of rooms may seem like an obvious action, care is not always taken when choosing cleaning products, underestimating the risks associated with the chemical substances they contain.
With regard to the use of disinfectants, it is essential to moderate their use. Bleach, for example, leads to antimicrobial resistance if used excessively.
Air fresheners, in particular, should be abolished. They can cause asthma in susceptible individuals and are a concentrated source of indoor air contaminants.
Every day we unknowingly ingest about 20 mg of dust, children and pets even more. Bearing in mind that many toxic chemicals released by the products we use accumulate in dust, it is clear how important it is to remove it regularly.
Among the most dust-attracting objects are all electronic devices ranging from the TV to the wi-fi router or the player.
With all these examples, it is clear that the problem of high levels of indoor pollution can only be solved by using the right tools. The central vacuum system of Sistem Air is a good solution thanks to its ability to expel dust, micro-dust, bacteria, viruses and allergenic mites to the outside. A healthy and healthy home is possible.

The students, enrolled in the ITS Sustainable Digital Factory 4.0 Specialist course promoted by Fondazione Green, visited Sistem Air for a day dedicated to discovering the central vacuum system.
Lorenzo Valerio owns a paint factory, where he treats both wood and metal, and in his business the difficult relationship with dust and waste is a constant.
Wood, cork, straw and hemp are just some of the main natural materials that can be used to build in an environmentally friendly way.
As we spend 90% of our time indoors, this is where we breathe in most pollutants.
Sistem Air hosted the webinar, moderated by journalist Riccardo Fiorina, "Designing for healthcare at the time of Covid: air quality and cleanliness" with Eng. Tiziano Binini of Binini Partners.
